BSI Built - The BSI Racing Story

BSI Racing is a premier professional sportscar team providing turnkey racing programs, services, and solutions located in Daytona Beach, Florida since 1987. BSI currently fields professional teams in IMSA and SRO and continues #BSIBuilt development programs in the SCCA club racing ranks.

In the early 2000’s. BSI Racing became a leading force in the amateur ranks of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) in the Mazda Spec Miata category. BSI Racing’s foundation was built on building, servicing, and supporting this category manufacturing over 200+ chassis’ to become the largest national class in the country. With countless wins and podiums over the years the team entered in the professional ranks during the inception of the Mazda MX-5 Cup in 2006 and won the championship the series inaugural season.

In 2021, BSI was purchased by familiar names in the paddock, Shea Holbrook, ex-professional driver and husband, Nick Chorley, who turned their 15-year motorsport careers into a multi-program business and race shop. 7-time SRO Touring Car winner, Shea Holbrook has an aptitude and focus for fostering driver development while Nick Chorley brings a keen eye for value and calculated risk. The maverick-like duo has been very successful in the motorsport industry making them an unstoppable force.

Today, BSI Racing is well-known and accomplished in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup and Toyota’s GR Cup where the team and drivers have numerous wins, podiums, poles, and have been awarded series honors.

​

In 2021, Mazda scholarship winner, Connor Zilisch selected the team to campaign for his 2022 season where Zilisch finished second in the championship and won Rookie of the Year. Westin Workman, 2023 scholarship winner joined BSI during the 2024 season and won Rookie of the Year.

The team continues their #BSIBuilt programs in the club racing categories of Mazda Spec Miata and Mazda Spec MX-5 Challenge for the 2025-2026 seasons. 

​

The future of BSI Racing is bright as the team announces GT4 programs in both IMSA and SRO for the upcoming 2025 seasons and beyond.
