BSI Racing will bring five drivers to Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, this coming weekend for the penultimate rounds of the Toyota GR Cup.
Considered one of the most beautiful racing facilities in North America, the “Alabama Roller Coaster” presents a plethora of challenges for drivers in the series and promises excitement for fans of the spec-racing series.
Joining BSI and making his series debut is Miles Hewitt, the younger brother of BSI Racing’s Max Hewitt.
Miles is a 16-year-old driver and student at St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas, and has been racing in some form since he was four years old. Having finished third in the National Karting Championship, Hewitt has a top-10 finish at June Sprints in Spec-Miata.
“My dream is to race professionally. It’s always been my dream,” said Hewitt.
“I’ve been looking forward to this for a while, so I’m very excited to be a part of the BSI Racing team this weekend.”
The usual suspects of Maddie Aust, Steven Clemons, Max Hewitt, and Jordan RickSegrini, all return for rounds 11 & 12. RickSegrini looks to find himself on the podium after narrowly missing it in race two at Road America last month.
“I’m looking forward to a great weekend of racing for our BSI Drivers,” said Team Owner Shea Holbrook.
“We’ve seen steady improvement from all of our drivers this season, and this track is so much fun. It’s a beautiful setting for a race environment, and I’m excited to see what we do this weekend. I’m also thrilled to have Miles on board with us. Getting to race with his big bro Max is going to be fun to watch for us.”
Practice begins on Friday morning with races on Saturday and Sunday.
