BSI Racing at Martinsville

Daytona, Florida –

Oct 23, 2024

BSI Racing is thrilled to participate in the first-ever oval-track race in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin. The platform will take to Martinsville Speedway this Saturday, October 26, for a two-stage, 100-lap race.

BSI Racing will bring four drivers to Virginia for the inaugural oval race. 2024 Rookie of the Year Westin Workman will return to his No. 13 MX-5 and will be joined by Farhan Siddiqi and Jagger Jones. Also, returning to the platform will be a fan-favorite and BSI alumni, Selin Rollan.

The race will not be an official race counting towards the points championship, as the season wrapped up earlier this month, with Gresham Wagner taking home $250,000 for his first-place finish. Instead, significant money is on the line for the participating drivers.

According to a series press release, the participating drivers will win a total of $63,000, with Sunoco Race Fuels contributing to the purse.

The first place will take home $25,000, while the second and third place will take home $10,000 and $7,000, respectively. There are payouts for everyone finishing in the top 10 with bonuses for the first stage of the race.

“This is such a cool opportunity for both BSI Racing and Mazda,” said team owner Shea Holbrook.

“We’ve been looking forward to this for a long time. It’s so awesome for our drivers to get oval racing experience, and the fans are going to absolutely love it. The testing has been a lot of fun, and I think everyone is in for a great show.”

According to the series, the race will be the opener for NASCAR’s Whelen Modified Tour, and IMSA will sanction the MX-5 race. The race will be streamed on IMSA’s YouTube channel and is scheduled for a 6PM ET green flag.
