BSI Racing Gains Steam at VIR

BSI Racing produced a flurry of positive results last weekend at Virginia International Raceway in the official Toyota Gazoo Racing Cup. Now the team will carry that momentum to Wisconsin and Road America, next month for rounds 9 & 10 of the series.

In a weekend that saw weather play a factor during practice, qualifying, and race one, BSI secured multiple top-10s, while narrowly missing a podium for Max Hewitt in race two, a race that ended under caution.

“If I would have a had a couple more laps, I felt that I could’ve gotten up on the podium,” said Hewitt, who finished with his best performance to date with a P4 finish.

“I was right there at the end, but I’m very happy with the result and excited for Road America.”

Max qualified P5 for the race, moving up one spot to secure a top-four finish.

Max was not the only driver to push for a podium over the weekend. After a tough stint in qualifying, Steven Clemons piloted his NO. 76 Endava machine to a P6 finish, after starting the race from P20. The 14-spot jump would be more than enough to earn the title of Hard Charger, his first of the year.

And after an up-and-down weekend for Jordan RickSegrini, NO. 18 found himself with another top-10 finish, finishing P10 in race two.

“I’m thrilled with the results we saw last weekend,” said Team Owner Shea Holbrook.

“We’re moving closer to where we want our drivers to be. While I’m pumped to see us moving the right direction, we’re not fully satisfied, and that’s a good place to be. The podium is within reach. We’re capable. Now we need to carry the success we had here to the next race and push for more.”

BSI Racing returns to the track August 16-18 at Road America.
