BSI Racing Launches Junior Development Program with Carson Neel and Rhylee Hutchins
BSI Racing announces their #BSIbuilt Junior Development Program focused around Carson Neel and Rhylee Hutchins.
The program will commence in Janruary of 2025 starting with the Formula & Automobile Racing Association (FARA) and the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) gaining the drivers experience, development, and growth with goals aimed for professional racing in the future.
Both drivers will go through a 20-week racing program in the Spec Miata categories of FARA and NASA while shadowing BSI’s professional platforms.
“We are beyond excited to manage this program for Carson and Rhylee,” said Shea Holbrook, owner of BSI. “This program's infrastructure is stacked from top to bottom with the amount of seat time, coaching, and management Carson and Rhylee will receive.”
Carson Neel, 13 years of age, from Deland, Florida began racing at the age of 6 in quarter midgets winning at the Little New Smyrna 500 where he finished 3rd in points in his first season. Neel switched over to go karts locally, continuing that momentum on the podium and winning.
In 2022, Neel raced in the LO206 Sportsman karting class and won the BMP Championship Kart Series and came in 3rd in the NFKC Summer Shootout. In 2023, Neel moved to the LO206 Junior class and finished the BMP Championship Kart Series in 2nd place and then started racing nationally.
Neel has already locked up the 2024 LO206 Junior Championship at BMP with one race left and is currently testing his Spec Miata.
“I'm so excited to be part of the BSI Junior Development program,” said Neel.
“BSI is our racing family. My dad has spent years working under their tent, and I can't wait to get to work next season chasing my dreams. I can't thank Shea and Nick enough for this great opportunity. I’m looking forward to the first event!”
Development counterpart, Rhylee Hutchins, 12-years old from Mount Pleasant, NC began her racing career just two years ago, starting out in Bandoleros. With over 60 events to date in 2024 Hutchins has been extremely busy.
Rhylee quickly rose through the ranks of the INEX Bandoleros program where she won the Inex Winter Nationals and moved to INEX legend cars. Hutchins second legends race she won at Atlanta Motor Speedway. For the past five months, Rhylee has been spending her time testing Pro Late-Models, Late-Model Stocks, Legends and has begun Karting at Trackhouse Motorplex. Rhylee begins the transition into Spec Miata before the New Year.
“I am looking forward to growing and developing with BSI as a driver in a different form of motorsports,” said Hutchins.
“I am excited to be under their direction and receive support from a team with a proven track record of success. As a female, I am really looking forward to working alongside Shea, who has a strong presence in the industry.”
With a vigorous program set forth the drivers will work alongside career industry professionals from the BSI network including coaching from professional BSI racing drivers in the Mazda MX-5 Cup and Toyota GR Cup.
“The goal is to create a sustainable long-term platform around both drivers as they strategically go through the ranks to get to professional racing in the 2026 season,” said Holbrook.
