Daytona, Florida –
Â
Racing driver Maddie Aust joins BSI Racing's Toyota GR Cup team for the 2024 season. Aust, just 19 years old, is a student at Texas Christian University and comes to BSI Racing with both open-wheel and sports car experience, transitioning from the world of competitive cheerleading to the professional racing circuit.
Â
This will be Maddie's first year in the Toyota GR Cup, having spent the 2023 season with Fast Track Racing, where she drove a BMW M2 GS (Cup) car in the TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School series. Aust has also spent time in WRL, adding endurance racing to her growing resume.
Â
Aust earned her first career win as a professional driver in the TCX class last year at Virginia International Raceway. She boasted two wins in her stint as a Formula 4 driver, making 21 starts in the open-wheel series.
Â
Aust will pilot the No. 09 Endava car for BSI. Endava – a next-gen technology services company, will serve as primary sponsor for the season.
Â
"I am thrilled to be running the GR86 Cup with BSI Racing this year", said Aust.
Â
"With this incredible team, I know I will have the support necessary to succeed on track and enhance my skills as a driver. I can't wait for the season to begin!"
Â
Maddie Aust joins Max Hewitt as the team's second rookie in the series.
Â
"We've added another driver with a lot of promise," said Team Owner Shea Holbrook.
Â
"Maddie is a competitor through and through. She's gotten a lot of seat time since she moved to racing, and it shows. This is a highly competitive series, and I'm really excited to see what she does. I think she'll fit right in."
Â
Maddie Aust and BSI Racing will begin the 2024 Toyota GR Cup at Sonoma Raceway on April 5.
