2023 Mazda Shootout Scholarship Recipient Westin Workman joins BSI Racing for the 2024
Whelen Mazda MX-Cup season. Workman is the 16th winner of the $110,000 scholarship,
awarded to the top finisher at the shootout. A Spec MX-5 veteran, Workman comes to BSI
having been on Mazda's radar since 2020.
Workman competed in the 2020 and 2021 Spec MX-5 shootout before participating in the 2022 and 2023 MX-5 Cup Shootout. "After working with Westin at the Spec MX-5 level over the past couple of years, we're extremely excited to have him join BSI in the MX-5 Cup as the Mazda Shootout Scholarship winner.", said Shea Holbrook, BSI Racing owner and Team Principal.
Although Westin is young, he's already a Mazda veteran who's seen great success thus far in Mazda-focused programs. We look forward to further developing Westin under the BSI banner."
No stranger to working with scholarship participants, Workman joins 2021 Shootout winner
Connor Zilisch and 2022 Women in Motorsports Scholarship recipient Heather Hadley at BSI.
